I love to eat and travel, while the pictures and stories I’m collecting are getting a bit too many and a bit too messy, my memories of those experiences are fading slowly. I reckon I need a place to throw all of them somewhere before something terrible happens, like sudden loss of data, either from my hard-drive or my mind. So this blog is part photoblog, part journal, reviews, and occasional sentimental stories.
I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and lived there for 17 years. There were many times during that time when I wondered whether I would ever go as far as Singapore. Never in my wildest dream I imagined I could go places I’ve been to until now. But then, there are many things in my life have gone beyond my deepest dreams. Like meeting my soulmate again after 8 years of separation, working as a game programmer at a company I could only admire from afar before, or having lived in 5 different countries. Gone are the days when I wondered whether I would ever find my first love again, whether I could break into my dream job, or whether I would ever get on a plane. Life has funny turn of events.
So that’s my cheesy sentimental history. Today I’m just a girl who got into the rat’s race like everybody else, chasing after money in Multinational Company, who often wonders when is the right time for her to throw things away for a while and carry her backpack to see the world. Meanwhile, she’s quite happy to find adventures in traveling to nearby countries, or eating places.
Dioni (that’s my real name!) has lived in Jakarta-Indonesia, KL-Malaysia, Melbourne-Australia, Vancouver-Canada, and currently is stuck in the tiny island of Singapore. So she would love to talk about these places to anyone, just for the sake of old times. Her family (parents and 2 younger brothers) has migrated to Sydney-Australia many years ago. She too has thrown away her motherland, changed her surname, and is now calling Australia home.
She’s currently working at that company who created light sabers and the pointy ears green old midget. When she’s not daydreaming about hiking in the mountains of Tibet or wandering in the busy street of India, she’s totally loving and passionate about what she’s doing. She plays all kind of games in the name of research.
