06.Jan.2010 Herding Cats II Herded
Herding Cats II Challenge ran from 1 April to 31 December 2009. In this challenge we list 5 books we love (read in 2007-2009 only) and everybody’s recommendations make the master list from which everybody would read any number of books for the challenge.
There are 163 books in the list and I read 3:
- Dracula by Bram Stoker — recommended by Kara’s Book Challenges (who seems to be on hiatus)
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows — recommended by A Book Lover
- Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See — recommended by katrina’s reads
I didn’t get a chance to read my original top 5:
- The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick
- Nation by Terry Pratchett
- Rapunzel’s Revenge by Shannon Hal (graphic novel)
- Ten Cents A Dance by Christine Fletcher
- The Devil and Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho
Oh well, there’s always tomorrow! :)
If you’re interested here’s the 5 books I recommended: (more details on why on my challenge post)
- Leaving Microsoft to Change the World by John Wood
- Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
- The Key by Junichiro Tanizaki
- A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah
- Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi
I find it interesting now that I suggested 3 non-fiction out of 5 books (no 1, 4, 5).
