13.Dec.2009 Book Links, Just for Fun

These are my last four reads. Can you find links between one and the next? (What do Dracula and The Woman in White have something in common? Then The Woman in White and I Am a Cat, and I Am a Cat with Firmin.) No googling! :)

Dracula
Dracula — Bram Stoker

The Woman in White
The Woman in White — Wilkie Collins

I Am a Cat
I Am a Cat — Soseki Natsume

Firmin
Firmin — Sam Savage

If I want to push it, I can link Firmin with The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, but the connection is much more obscure ;)

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society — Annie Barrows, Mary Ann Shaffer

Oh I think I know! Both Dracula and Woman in White are presented in the form of letters (most of it, at least). I Am A Cat is narrated by a cat, and Firmin by a rat… so both narrators aren’t human ;) As for Woman in White and I Am A Cat… hmm… both are written by women? Hehe, that one I don’t know the real link :)

Very good! Although I probably had given you the answers before I made the quiz. lol.
The Woman in White and I Am a Cat link is not correct. Also, both are in fact written by men. :)

    that’s quite a link!

Great that you are reading Alice in Wonderland! I bought the penguin edition last week! Hope you enjoy it. Does it got pictorial illustration?

My copy is Vintage and yes it has illustration (black and white). But just today I borrowed another one from the library, which I’ve been eyeing at Kinokuniya for a while (but too pricey to buy). It has colored hand-drawings and it’s just so so pretty!
