Since I came back to Australia, I hadn’t been able to find places that sell affordable (read: cheap) books. On Saturday, I dropped by the Basement Books, near the Central station, Sydney, and found what I was looking for. A bookshop with great prices! Granted, they sell new books not secondhand, so they’re not super cheap, but the prices are great for new books. It ranges from $2 and above. Quite a few good ones cost around $5 and a lot of nice classics for $6.95. Some good hardcovers for $7-$12. Nice.

My hubby eyed the Murakami Diary for me, and it cost only $5! What a bargain! I never really had a physical diary before (I either use my head or MS Outlook) cos it never really worked for me, but I couldn’t resist this diary, so I got it, there! I browsed through it and it contains quotes from and pictures of Murakami’s books, and some beautiful Japanese theme pictures. I like how the diary notes Japanese public holidays in Kanji and Furigana too. It’s perfect for Murakami’s fan. I’m not yet sure if I am, but I sure like him just enough.

On the other hand, I started Neil Gaiman’s first volume of the Sandman series: Preludes and Nocturnes. Finished off two chapters, and to be honest, I don’t think I really get it. Some characters coming out of nowhere, weird things happening, storyline jumping here and there… I’m really not sure what’s happening still. Wondering if I’m just really not used to reading Western comics. The whole thing feels very foreign to me. I’m gonna keep going and tell you how I go.

Book wise, I just finished The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly and started Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It’s fantasy weeks or what?
