You Have Free Games?

Okay I found a new trend that people think a game company is a place where things are colourful and game stock unlimited. Almost like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, just change the chocolate to games: river with floating free games, games grow on trees, games scattered on the ground.

What’s with people asking me for free games?
Even if they’re the games that I make, do they think I would go around giving them away like uncontrollable charity person?

Let me put you into perspective. So we’re working our ass off for years, sacrifice a whole lot of ourselves, not to mention a HUGE amount of money, many many people’s sweat and blood, for ONE game, then at the end you put zero value to it?

I guess what most people don’t realize is that it takes a crazy amount of time and effort just to publish one game, which, may not even be a good game. There’s no magic factory that can produce superb game instantly in a few months. Unfortunately.

I’m Back

I’ve been missing for a long time, haven’t I?

I think, I THINK, since the last post, I have left Melbourne, gone to Gold Coast for a week, gone back to Sydney, and flied to Singapore.

Fast forward to Singapore, I’m currently looking for place to stay. By the way, Singapore is HOT HOT HOT! I had blisters on my feet on the first day and I thought I almost passed out from the extreme heat. It doesn’t help that Australia was in winter time right before I left.

So in the plane on the way here, there was this kid CRYING his (her?) eyes out for the WHOLE trip! I’m very sure that whoever in that plane that had doubts of whether to have kids or not in their life, can now be forever sure to stay out from the little devils. I was grinding my teeth in frustation for the whole night. Didn’t sleep one bit. The guy next to me showed his frustation by covering his head with the blanket and knocking his head numerous times to the seat in front of him. It is that bad.

I love the food here! Giant cream puff, green tea ice cream, roti prata, fresh mango juice, RICE burger (in McD! they substitute the bread with rice that shapes like bread), all kinds of noodles, rice, and HEAPS more! And they’re all cheap cheap cheap!

Yesterday I found the National Library that’s located very close to where I will work at. It’s HUGE! 11 floors complete with outdoor reading places. And they have a vending machine for hot sandwhich in one of the study room! Can you imagine that?

I’m like a little child in candy store.
It’s good to be back in Asia.
