Cup and Coffee

Forwarded from an email:

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: “If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

“While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress”.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other’s cups.” “Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change.”

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”
So don’t let the cups drive you…enjoy the coffee instead.

About Second Phase of Post Holiday Time and Animal Friendships

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I’m in the what I call the-second-phase-of-post-holiday-time, which I found is the hectic no-matter-how-much-you-do-you-will-never-ever-be-able-to-catch-up-whatever-you-left-on-the-one-month-break time. I’m now just running and stumbling to catch up movies, books, games, game news, family news, friends news, and so on. Probably the only thing that I don’t need to worry about is work, because it doesn’t matter whether I want it or not, I have to stay on my desk at least 7-8 hours a day. So yeah, I easily caught up work.

In the middle of this, I found Panda School!! You just gotta see this. Click on the video to watch. Won’t regret it! I guess it soothes my pain a little since I missed to see real Giant Pandas in Hong Kong on my holiday. *sigh*

And this is another link to bright up your day: Tiger and 6 Piglets
I would also love to read this book about a baby Hippo and a giant Turtle
Ahh.. it’s a wonderful world after all :)
Have I told you that I love animals?

The Day With 26 School Children

Today 26 school children (around age 10-12) came to our office to do focus testing! (Focus testing is the testing you do to know what’s fun and what not, what improvements you can do, before it’s too late to change anything. Usually happens in the middle or early development.)

A lot of people seemed almost as excited as they were. It’s always exciting to see other people playing your game :). We all went to the rooms where the kids were, like a bunch of overgrown school children, giggling and whispering at the back. We also had to pull one guy back because he stuck to the kids all the time giving pointers and hints when he shouldn’t.

I wish I could go to a game company to test game when I was that age! When I was at school, we went to MUSEUMS for excursion. It could even be the SAME museum 2 years in a row. Yeah, it’s pathetic. You couldn’t even run away or sneak out because the museum is in the middle of nowhere and you wouldn’t have any money to spend to do anything at that age anyway.
